We are looking for a Part 2 Architectural Assistant/Architectural Designer to join our team. This is an ideal opportunity to work on a diverse range of predominantly residential projects, and further develop your architectural career.
The Role
As a Part 2 Architectural Assistant/Architectural Designer, you will contribute to various project stages, primarily focusing on the concept design and Planning stages of work initially. You will gain experience in technical design and detailing, and be required to undertake site visits during the construction phase of work. Our projects typically range from small to medium scale residential, with focus on historic and bespoke building generally.
We are a small practice of designers, surveyors and project managers which continues to grow steadily, managing a variety of residential projects. We are based in East Preston village, a 25-minute walk from Angmering train station, with parking available close to the office.
Key responsibilities
- Assisting senior team members in developing design concepts and presentations.
- Conducting research and preparing drawings to communicate design ideas effectively.
- Collaborating with consultants, contractors, and clients to ensure smooth project delivery.
- Keeping up to date with industry trends, regulations, and best practices.
Skills and Requirements
- Completed RIBA Part II qualification or equivalent.
- Minimum of one year’s experience working in professional practice (UK experience essential)
- A portfolio demonstrating creative thinking and design process.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe InDesign and Photoshop.
- Experience with Sketchup is beneficial but not essential.
- Strong conceptual and design skills with the ability to think creatively and critically.
- Clear written and spoken English and strong communication skills for effective collaboration with team members, consultants and clients.
- Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
